Tiger Times
Week of May 21st through May 25th
Hello Tiger Family!
This week's #OurHouseTES comes from LaLa Hines
Have you ever posed this question to yourself, “What motivates me in life?”
So what motivates you and what makes you wake up each morning? What drives you and how you go through life each day?
If you are just like every other “ordinary” person, you have no idea what motivates you. You do not know why you want to wake up each morning, and you do not know what you want to do with your life.
“Ordinary” people wake up each morning because they have to go to work. And the reason they go to work is that they want to get paid. They want to pay their bills.
But for those that choose to live out their passion just working for money is not enough. I have always worked in the medical field. In the Army I was an airborne combat medic. So when I was forced to be medically discharged and re-enter the civilian world, I went for what was comfortable and would pay well, being a respiratory therapist. While I love and excelled working in the NICU, my heart was not fully in it. After many years, I learned through seeking God where my true passion lies and to go for it.

The Big Amazing Timberline Move of 2018! Everyone needs to read the moving information here . In addition to what was previously shared in Tiger Times, there a few updates.
All possible retentions must be discussed with Whiteside or Ingram prior to speaking to guardians. Please let us know if a parent has approached you to initiate a request for retention.
Jeans continue through May with a Timberline or College/University tee. You don't have to wear jeans...only if you'd like!
From District Leadership
End of Year (EOY) Istation
Please remember to have your students in grades K-8 complete the Istation assessments for Reading and Math in May. Istation data is used at the district and campus level to support personalized learning and monitor student growth.
Survey Links:
Each campus is asked to complete the following surveys. One is for students but both are a couple for staff. I suggest dividing and conquering amongst your grade level team…I know the ideal is that everyone reply to every survey but that just isn’t a realistic expectation with everything going on. A teacher responding for the team isn’t ideal but it’s better than the district not having Timberline’s input at all.
C&I Services Survey
In order to collect information to guide the work of the C&I department for next year, please share this survey link with your teachers before they leave for the summer.
Bright Bytes
Tony Zahn has asked that teachers and 3rd – 5th students complete a Bright Bytes survey between May 14 and May 31st. This data will allow us to provide you with data to continue successful implementation of technology in our classrooms. In the fall Kyle, Janie and Tony will spend time with me looking at this data, along with 5th or 8th grades technology assessment data and Apple Survey data in order to equip us with the information in order to continue leading technology at TES. The unique links for our campus are as follows:

After you've read Nuts and Bolts, be sure to sign here to indicate you've received and understand the information shared! Thank you!
May Twitter Competition from our Amazing Liaison
We want to keep celebrating the awesome things you are doing in your classrooms until the very end of school! Here's a fun way to share that with the world via Twitter!
1) Celebrate the great learning opportunities you are giving your kids these last few weeks of school by posting a picture to twitter and including the following hashtags: #TESleads #TESourstory
2) Don't have Twitter? E-mail or text me and let me know you're doing something awesome! I'll go down and document your activity OR help you get started on Twitter! I promise it's easy and really valuable to educators!!
3) For every Tweet you send out (only one per day, please!) I'll throw your name in a hat for 3 surprise gift cards! So if you send out one tweet your name will be in there once, but if your kids are doing awesome learning every day and you document it, you can be in there lots!
4) I'll have Shelley pick 3 names out of a hat at our EOY celebration, Tuesday, May 29.
5) Entries will be accepted through Wednesday, May 23. Don't forget these 2 hashtags! #TESleads #TESourstory
