RICHLAND REFLECTIONS
Week of 10/31/22 at Richland Elementary School
GO EAGLES! GO PHILLIES!
Richie, the Richland Panther, made an appearance at our parade this week. Check out many more photo highlights from this week's kindness assemblies and spirit days below.
We hope to see families this Friday night at our Family Fun Bingo Night! Our amazing Richland PTO is hosting this free event, and doors will open at 5:45. Refreshments will be available for purchase.
November begins a month of giving thanks. There are many ways to practice gratitude, and I will start by saying thank you for the support of our awesome Richland staff and community as I worked toward my Doctorate in Educational Leadership. After three and a half years, I celebrated that accomplishment this week.
I encourage you to express your gratitude to our hard-working staff. You can click on the image below to share shout-outs o staff members!
Another way staff and students express gratitude is by donating to the community. This week starts our food drive. We also look forward to celebrating our veterans this month.
So many ways to express gratitude! Thank you for all you do to partner with us, and we look forward to seeing you at parent conferences this month. Enjoy this first week of November!

WELCOME MR. WILSON
We welcome Mr. Shawn Wilson to the gym. Mr. Wilson will be student teaching with
Mr. Kemmerer until December 2nd . A student of Wilson college, he will be graduating in the
winter and ready to start his teaching career after that. Mr. Wilson also graduated from QCSD in 2016. He is looking forward to teaching our recess games and hockey units!
As we finish fitness testing in PE, 3 rd – 5 th grade students are focusing on strength tests like push ups and sit-ups. They have already completed the mile run and PACER tests! Students in grades K-2 are learning the proper form and good habits when completing these
exercises.
Students have also recently completed the RES jump rope fundraiser. Students had a
blast jumping their way into fitness while helping RES at the same time. Great job Richland!

PURCHASING LUNCH AT SCHOOL
QCSD wants to remind families that the federal program to waive the cost of meals for all students has expired. Families can make online payments for student meals at SchoolCafe. Lunch accounts for students at the Upper Bucks County Technical School are separate and may be paid at My Payments Plus.
In addition, we’re asking that QCSD families fill out 2022-2023 Free & Reduced Meal Applications. Households must submit a new application each school year unless they receive a Direct Certification letter, which was mailed by the district in mid-August.
A situation has arisen for families with students on Free and Reduced Meals where your child may be charged for not taking enough items to qualify as a reimbursable meal. This is a federal regulation. Here’s information on what a meal consists of. Please speak with your student(s) to avoid this issue.
Click here to access all information about Free & Reduced meals in QCSD.
If you have questions, please email sreiss@qcsd.org or call 215-529-2012.
