Mask Optional Reminder
Mask Optional but Encouraged
At the beginning of the school year, we announced our goal to keep students in school five days a week with as little interruption as possible. Masks have been a key mitigation strategy throughout the school year, and we appreciate everyone’s patience in following our policy.
As we have all year, we continue to monitor our COVID-19 data and are pleased to report that our positive cases and school spread numbers have improved significantly, prompting a change in our mask requirements districtwide.
Starting February 17, 2022, the wearing of masks became optional in all PK-12 school buildings and district offices. Students will still need to wear masks on all school buses and vans per an order issued by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on February 1, 2021.
Although our universal masking policy has been lifted, we recognize the role it has played in limiting the spread of COVID-19 in our schools, and we strongly encourage students and staff to continue to wear masks indoors. As always, students, teachers and staff with symptoms of illness should remain at home to prevent spread to others.
