LINCOLN HILL H.S. & LINCOLN ACADEMY
Family Update - Week of October 17, 2022
1st session grade reports have been mailed home to Parents/Guardians. Please review your student's progress in school up to this point. If you have any questions, please let our teachers know. Their contact information is below.
Credit Retrieval
This week, we will begin offering credit retrieval for students who are behind in their credits. Students participating in credit retrieval will need to stay after school at least one of the two days it is being offered (Tuesdays or Thursday from 2:15 - 3:15 PM). Students and/or parents/guardians interested in this opportunity can contact Christy Thompson (cthompson2@stanwood.wednet.edu), school counselor, to get signed up and enrolled into courses. Our staff will also be reaching out to students and parents/guardians to discuss this opportunity for students that are behind in their credits. Credit retrieval is open to all grades (9-12).
Smarter Balanced Assessment Reports
If your student took the Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) last spring, their Smarter Balanced Assessment Reports have been mailed home along with their 1st session grades. A letter explaining the reports will also be mailed home this week. You can access the letter now by using the link below:

Hello Families,
Hello Families,
I drive by this sign several times weekly and appreciate the displayed messages (photo below). This one is extra special! Congratulations to our athletes, coaches, parents, and fans for supporting such an outstanding football team! The sentiment around being “undefeated” resonates with me. All our schools strive to serve students in the best way possible. They collaborate to work and re-work their approaches to ensure student success is at the forefront of our work. Our staff's support of our students and families takes tremendous effort and is one that we take seriously. While we may need to adjust or change course at times, we strive to provide you with championship-quality learning experiences.
Road Work along 532
You may have seen signs of road work and detours along 532 as the City of Stanwood installs piping under the road. Road closures are planned from 9:00 pm - 4:00 am beginning next week. We do not expect detours to impact our bussing, but it may impact early morning drivers off the island.
School Boundary Discussion: Part of CFAC’s work!
Please consider joining our Capital Facilities Action Committee (CFAC)! This team reviews district enrollment data and looks at our facilities' master plans and helps us plan for future growth. This team’s work will also include recommendations for how families are assigned to particular schools based on where families reside, school capacity, and immediate and projected enrollment.
Community members play a key role in developing our long-term capital facilities plan and providing input on facility use to ensure the community's values and priorities are accurately represented.
If you are interested in joining this committee or would like to know more, please complete this form.
