Monday Morning Memo - Week 6
10/7/18 Let's get it!!!
Dear Poupard Staff,
We're entering a long week of late nights. This week provides us an outstanding opportunity to connect with our students families, share our passion for working with their learner, identify their learners strengths and make plans for addressing areas requiring the most growth. Remember to start your conversations with the positives your seeing occur inside of the classroom before addressing concern areas. Families need to know that we care dearly about their child and celebrate who they are as individuals. Also, remember to focus on being an intentional listener this week. Families will share information that they value and we can build off of those items that are shared. As always, please let me know if you'd like my support at any of your conferences. I'm more than happy to sit in.
(K-3) teachers, I-RIPs will be printed out for you. Please pick them up on Monday morning from the Library at 8:15. You will need to mark which Tier 2/3 interventions (Lexia, Reading Support, Small Group Support) each student qualifies for on their individual I-RIPs. I'd like for us to add one optional intervention that will be delivered to that student inside of the classroom from their homeroom teacher. Lori and Julie will be in the Library to deliver the I-RIPs and assist you with determining the intervention/strategy that will be delivered inside of the classroom. On the day of conferences, you will have two copies of the I-RIPs; One will be for the parent to take home, the other is required to be signed and placed inside of the students CA-60's. Please bring signed IRIPs down to the office and Cindy will assist with getting those filed away.
Lastly, our building sub Victoria will be starting this Monday. Victoria has five years of teaching experience in Arizona and moved to Michigan for her husbands job last year. She has experience with a variety of grade levels and I'm thrilled to have her working with our learners at Poupard. Victoria will wear a few different hats this year. She will be assisting with our Alternative Learning Room, fill in for teachers if we're short a substitute, and delivering Tier 2 interventions with groups of students on the cusp of Tier 3.
*Please note, Victoria can not be requested as a substitute for your absences. Please request a sub as you normally would for times you will be out of the classroom.
Thank you all for everything you do for our students and the time you put into creating equitable outcomes for them. Let's have a great week!
Your Teammate,
Ali

Nuts and Bolts - Updated 9/30/18
- Please be sure to send any PTO Ambassador forms to the office and continue to push the opportunity for your families.
- Please share your weekly newsletters with me by "Ccing" me when they are emailed out to families. This allows for me to stay connected with all of the exciting things happening inside of your classrooms.
- Dragon Dollars will be passed out and used for students in (Y5-5) for our weekly raffles. The school store will be available for students in grades (4-5). Students in grades (Y5-3) can save up their Dragon Dollars if they would like to spend them once they reach 4th or 5th grade. We will discuss this more as a staff with the PBIS Team.
- Please be sure to review all of the emergency information for fire drills and tornado drills inside of your classrooms. We've completed a sweep to make sure your emergency bags are stocked with everything thats necessary and included updated rosters on 9/26.
- Behavior Referrals must be completed using the Online Behavior Form. Staff must complete the behavior form anytime a student is sent down to the office for a major office referral. Homeroom Teachers and Special Area Teachers are responsible for contacting the family to notify them of any incidents that occurred inside of the classroom. Please call home over an email whenever possible. Personally, I'd recommend sharing anything over 3-4 sentences over a phone call as well.
