PTG News
Welcome to Ms. Armstrong, Our New 2nd Grade Teacher!
Ms. Armstrong graduated from Gonzaga University where she received a Bachelor's degree in Special and Elementary Education. She is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Literacy through the Providence Alliance for Catholic Teachers (PACT) program.
Ms. Armstrong is originally from Olympia, WA, and this is her first time living on the East Coast! During her time at Gonzaga, Ms. Armstrong studied abroad in Florence, Italy, lived with a host family, and taught an English class to local fifth-grade students. One summer, she volunteered as a music teacher at a summer camp in the Andes Mountains of Ecuador. These experiences helped Ms. Armstrong realize her love for traveling and teaching children.
When she's not teaching, Ms. Armstrong enjoys cooking, writing, dancing, hiking, singing, and playing the piano. She is thrilled to be a part of the OLMC community and looks forward to learning alongside her students throughout the coming year.
Welcome, Ms. Armstrong!

Bingo is Back!
From the Principal
Caring for our school is truly a community endeavor. Thanks to the many people in our community who have helped to make sure that our building was ready to welcome students and faculty back, especially: Don Durfee, Mike Mercer, Ollie Poissant (ADT Painting), Joy Southworth, Nick Mancieri, Colt Dean, Paul Viveiros, Catherine Homes, Will Cox, Pat McCarthy, and John Mosher. Thank you also to the Knights of Columbus for their unwavering support of our school, especially the Robotics Club. Finally, thank you to Fr. Zinno for your passionate support of our school!
This year you might be hearing the phrase "NEASC" quite often. NEASC stands for "New England Association of Schools and Colleges". This association provides schools with accreditation. It's the seal of approval that OLMC is living its mission. NEASC also provides recommendations for ways to help our school continue to grow and improve. Every ten years, NEASC schools spend time reflecting on their programs and student experiences. This year our faculty will be using part of their professional development time in this self-study process. Next year, a visiting committee of educators will come to OLMC to review this self-study and provide us with feedback. Thanks to Mrs. Carlson and Mrs. Federico for chairing this important project.
Finally, thank you for trusting the faculty and staff of OLMC with your children. We know that Catholic education often requires sacrifice. We pledge to work to provide the best environment to care for, educate, and form your children as disciples of Christ.
Blessings,
Ms. Walters
P.S. You might have noticed that the Falcon Flyer has a new look this year. Let me know what you think!
