Playworks Recess Reboot
During Coach Melissa's visit she met with staff and students to demonstrate and teach strategies, games, and help create systems to keep a positive culture of safe and healthy play. One strategy students learned to solve conflict is to "Rock it Out" -- you may know it as "Rock Paper Scissors." Another new addition to our lunch recesses are Junior Coaches: 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students help organize group games and act as role models for our Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students. Junior Coaches wear purple vests to make them easy to find on the playground.
