Mr. Baker has been a Math teacher for over 20 years. He is active in coaching and with student clubs. He is always positive and encouraging. He is caring and connects with students through the strong relationships he builds with them. Mr. Baker is always willing to help colleagues and students. He is an inspiration to others!!

Counselor's Corner

SCHEDULING FOR 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR

Parents were able to view course requests in Skyward the week of April 11th-18th. If a student would like to change the elective they chose, their parent/guardian must contact the guidance office to make that change, students are no longer able to request changes to their courses for next year. Please remember changes to course requests will not be made after the last day of school, which is May 20th. Schedules will be available for viewing on Skyward for Preview Day, which is July 27, 2022.

WITHDRAWING YOUR STUDENT

If your child will be withdrawing from FJH, you must notify the Guidance office in advance of your student’s last day. Withdrawal forms prepared by the Guidance office must be signed by the parent/guardian.


2022-2023 School Year: If your child will be attending another school outside HSE School District next year, please call the Guidance office at 317-594-4150, ext. 5713 before May 1st so records can be prepared for the new school.

21ST CENTURY SCHOLARS 21ST CENTURY SCHOLARS

Indiana's 21st Century Scholars Program is the state’s premier college scholarship and preparation program for low-income Hoosier students. Students who fulfill the Scholar Pledge are provided up to four years of paid tuition at an eligible college or university. Scholars also receive a variety of support services designed to help them succeed in school and complete college.

MRS. MELLING'S SCIENCE CLASSES

Mrs. Melling's science classes are participating in the My Energy Kit Classroom Challenge. All FJH parents can help us by requesting a free Energy Kit from Duke Energy using our Classroom Code: 64144. Your student does not have to be in Mrs. Melling's class for parents to help out! The Butler Way Future-Focused Leadership Academy will be held in person from June 13 - June 16 from 9 - 4 pm. The cost for Empowering Future Leaders: The Butler Way is $75 per student. Limited scholarships will be available. The cost will cover lunch, materials, speakers, camp shirts, and activities. Any student entering grades nine through twelve for the 2022-2023 school year are eligible to attend. Student leaders, such as those serving as Student Council representatives, class moderators, NHS participants, team captains, etc., would greatly benefit from this experience. They will learn invaluable leadership skills that will both help them and your school! IB Diploma students can use this experience to earn CAS hours or even complete their CAS project. Any student interested in developing their leadership skills are encouraged to attend.

Looking for local events? Check out HSE’s Community Insider (CI). The CI is a resource for both HSE families and community partners. It not only provides a space to post information about events, camps, and other educational programs. It also offers the opportunity to find upcoming activities in and around Hamilton County.

MUDSOCK YOUTH ATHLETICS UPDATES:

Boys Volleyball is BACK this Spring:

Due to interest, Mudsock Youth Volleyball will be running sessions for 3rd - 8th graders from April 22nd - May 15th on Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Participants can register NOW at myathletics.com. Parents/guardians, thank you for letting us know if you'd like to coach on the online form. Knights Travel Cheerleading Tryouts:

Calling all incoming 5th and 6th graders! Do you want to stunt, flip, jump, and cheer for the Knights Travel Football Team? Attend the callout meeting on April 25th for all the details. The Knights Cheerleading 2022 season tryouts will be held Sunday, May 15th, from 4:30-7 p.m. at DeVeau’s Gymnastics. Find information and registration details here.
