District Retirees Recognized at Legislative School Board Meeting
The district celebrated this year’s cohort of retirees at the Tuesday, May 14 Legislative School Board Meeting. Following a retirees reception at the Administration Building, representatives from Wyncote, Cedarbrook, Elkins Park, Myers, Glenside, CLASP, Facilities and Administration lauded their colleagues for their hard work and dedication to the district and its students for their many years of service. Unified Track and Field Takes Silver at MontCo Championships
The Unified Panthers took second place Thursday at the annual Montgomery County Unified Track and Field Championships at Souderton. At the largest Unified track and field meet in Pennsylvania, the Unified Panthers faced Souderton, Lower Merion, Methacton, North Penn, Abington, Spring-Ford, Springfield and found themselves on the winners stand for the third time in four years. In the program's four years, the Unified Panthers have earned two silver medals and a bronze medal.
"The students on this year's team embrace the saying 'Play Unified and Live Unified.' They support each other at the track and in the hallways of the high school," said coach Gus Ekhardt.

Freshman’s Bar Mitzvah Project Benefits CHS Unified Sports and Life Skills
CHS freshman Matthew Shuster presented the school board with a check for $800 to support unified sports and life skills classes at the high school at Tuesday evening’s legislative meeting. The fundraising venture served as his bar mitzvah project and raised money through partnering with Sprinkles Ice Cream Shoppe in Elkins Park. Read more>

Representing Cheltenham with her gold and blue socks, senior Afwe Griffin took second in the sabre and bronze in the epee to become one of two multiple medal winners at the recent inaugural Philly High School Fencing Championship. Read more>

CBK Students Celebrate Brazil Day
Cedarbrook seventh graders enrolled in Isaac Stanford’s Social Studies class experienced the dynamic cultural experiences associated with the Land of the Palms at this past week’s Brazil Day celebration. Students enjoyed performances by capoeira dancers, the band Minas Brazil, and drank Guaraná Brazilian soda and ate pão de queijo (Brazilian cheese bread) from Picanha Brazilian Steakhouse in Northeast Philadelphia. The program was made possible by a generous grant from the Cheltenham School District Foundation and student contributions.

It's OFFICIAL ... End of the 2018-19 school year is set.
Graduation is Thursday, June 6 at 6:45 at La Salle University.
Final student day is Thursday, June 13, and schools will dismiss at the following times:
Cheltenham High School: 9:45 a.m.
Cedarbrook Middle School: 10:30 a.m.
Elkins Park School: 10:30 a.m.
K-4: 11:30 a.m.
Staff have professional development on Friday, June 14.
In service day on Monday, June 17 is the final teacher day.

Portraits for Rising Seniors

All CSD-issued Chromebooks need to be returned before seniors receive their cap and gown to participate in graduation. Please read these instructions for the collection of your CSD issued Chromebook and charger.

Kindergarten Registration and Screening for the Class of 2032
Kindergarten registration and readiness screening for the 2019-20 school year runs through Thursday, May 23 from 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Administration Building (2000 Ashbourne Rd., Elkins Park). Children must be a Cheltenham Township resident to register, and be 5-years-old on or before September 1, 2019, to attend kindergarten this coming school year.
