Lincoln Middle School Weekend Update
As many residents are aware, there was a serious incident Thursday morning in the nearby neighborhood involving gun shots and the theft of a vehicle. I appreciate the confidence and cooperation of both staff and parents as we continued with our day at Lincoln under the guidance of the Mount Prospect Police Department. Please know that decision regarding the safety of our students is never casual in nature. District 57 and its schools work closely with other schools and authorities to determine the best course of action during any emergency. District 57 families are fortunate to be a part of this community. Your continued support is appreciated.
As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, I am pleased to report that the Lincoln Student Council is doing a great job under the guidance of Ms. Bissing and Ms. Groah! The Lincoln food drive was a success and we hope that Lincoln has made a difference for families within our community. Thanks to all those who donated food items and a special thanks to the Mount Prospect Fire Department for coordinating the pick up and delivery of our donations.
I hope Lincoln families have a wonderful Thanksgiving break and are able to set aside time to share food and laughter with family and friends. It is important to slow down and consider all things good in your life. As for me, I want to be sure to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks for the warm welcome the Lincoln community has extended to me as Lincoln's principal. I look forward to the weeks and months ahead as I continue to build relationships with colleagues, students, and families.
Best wishes,
Eric Larson, Principal
