This Week at Jackson
March 19th
Spring Break/Beginning of Q4
Today was the last day of Q3. There is no school next week, March 22-26, for Spring Break. Report cards for Q3 will post to Skyward on Friday, April 2nd.
When we return on March 29th, we will have many new faces joining us for the final quarter of the 2020-2021 school year. If your child is making the transition to in-person, the most important thing you can do is to be positive when discussing the first day.
Because we are adding a significant number of students, I will include some reminders below of items that may prove helpful:
* Doors open at 8:15 and close at 8:35. The day officially begins at 8:35.
* All school meals are free to every child (breakfast and lunch) should you choose to take advantage of it.
* All students should bring a water bottle to school; all drinking fountains are turned off due to COVID-19 restrictions
* Although we have extra to give out when needed, it is always good for students to have an extra well-fitting mask in their backpacks
* We allow students to have snacks
* All students are assigned to one particular lunch seat; teachers will inform students of where they sit prior to attending lunch for the first time
* If your children were remote, please send in all workbooks/supplies that your child has been using. If you have specific questions, please consult your child's teacher
* Related arts (specials--art, music, PE) are on weekly rotations
* Students may bring in an optional art supply box to limit sharing of common art supplies (pencil box with crayons, markers, colored pencils, glue stick, scissors, etc.)
* We begin walking students to the bus at 2:15. We normally dismiss buses prior to 2:25. We finish our car line around 2:35.

Spring Pictures on April 1, 2021
Any remote students that are ordering spring pictures may come in between 10-10:30am on April 1st. Only students may enter the building; please call when your student is here so we know to let them in.
This year has had its ups and downs but seeing all of these smiling faces has made it easier to get through this extremely challenging school year. In light of everything going on we recognize how important it is to capture these precious memories and we are moving forward with a prepaid spring picture program. You will be able to order pictures exclusively online up until 11:59 PM the night before pictures. Please Note - If you do not prepay online ahead of time your child will not have a picture taken.

1:1 Devices for Students in Grades K-8
DSC will enter into a four-year lease agreement with Apple for new iPads for all students in grades K-8. These new, latest generation iPads will include rugged keyboard cases and accidental damage protection. This accidental damage protection will allow DSC to remove the cost to K-8 parents for device insurance. Students will exchange their current device with a new device prior to the end of the school. Students will be able to take new devices home over the summer.
