A busy time of the year here at New Hyde Park Memorial!

As we approach the last few days before the Holiday Recess, I am sure the students and staff will tell you that it is a busy time of the year here at New Hyde Park Memorial. A lot has been happening in the past few weeks and we are proud to highlight some of these events below. As you can see from the many photos and write-ups, the students have been not only winning awards for their outstanding academic and athletic accomplishments, but they also spend a lot of time giving back to the community. I could not be more proud to be their Principal!

The holiday season is a wonderful time to stop and thank others for the impact that they have on our lives. I would like to use this opportunity to thank students, parents, and staff for the dedication, support, and commitment in making New Hyde Park Memorial High School a school of excellence and a New York State Reward School.

I am very thankful that I work with such a dedicated staff, students that work hard and exhibit wonderful character, and supportive parents who encourage their child’s success.

On behalf of the entire New Hyde Park Memorial staff, we wish each family a wonderful holiday season and all the best in 2016.

Have an enjoyable week!
Dr. Faccio

New Hyde Park Memorial Model UN Team Competes at Rutgers

The weekend of December 3rd through the 6th the New Hyde Park Memorial Model United Nations team competed at the Rutgers University Model UN competition held in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The conference brought together over 1000 students from all over the country to debate such important topics as gender equality, the rights of refugees, child trafficking, and combatting the international drug trade. New Hyde Park represented the nations of Turkey and India. Led by seniors Visruth Girish, Vinay Madula, and Greg Kothesakis, the team worked hard and truly lived up to the tenet of eat/sleep/mun. A special congratulations to the following delegates who received awards for excellence in their committee:

Greg Kothesakis and Eleni Kothesakis in the Commission of Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice

Updating your Parent/Emergency Contact Information - In case you haven't done so already!

If you have not done so already, this will pop up when you are accessing your child's progress report on Friday. We are committed to having the most up-to-date contact information for parents and students. It is very important for us here at New Hyde Park Memorial. The Sewanhaka Central High School District requires a record of emergency contact information for parents/guardians or other persons designated by a parent or in the event of an emergency involving their child. The District is asking parents and guardians to annually review accurate and timely information about those designated to be contacted in the event of an emergency. To make this process easy for you, the next time you log into the Parent Portal you will be automatically prompted to update your emergency contact information. (The below button will take you directly to the Parent Portal Log in screen!) YOU MUST CLICK VERIFY TO BE MOVED ON TO ANY PARENT PORTAL INFORMATION! Once you have done so, you will not be asked to do this again. Thank you in advance for your participation in updating these records!

P.S. If you are having any issues with this, please do not hesitate to contact the Guidance office at 488-9552
