Please review this checklist for each of your students DAILY before sending to school.
Please take a few minutes to read closely over this newsletter as it has some very valuable information in it.
Please remember that the District will be sending out another survey the first week in January asking our K-2 families to decide again what your plans are for semester 2, beginning Monday, Jan. 25. We hope to hear soon if the hybrid will also be open for our 3-5 students for the 2nd semester as well.
Reminders about the K-2 Hybrid and 3-5 Revised Models:
1. December 7 is the start date unless public health changes their recommendation.
2. Students in the hybrid come on Mondays/Tuesdays or on Thursdays/Fridays. Wednesdays continue to be an independent workday for all students.
3. For K-2 hybrid students, the location for specials will be in the classroom or outside taught by the specialist.
4. Breakfast and lunch will be served in classrooms.
5. With more live instruction, our small groups will be more flexible. In our K-2 classes, our small groups will no longer need to be static and scheduled.
6. Grades 3-5 will shift to a daily schedule that aligns with K-2 expectations for distance learning that includes more live instruction (also known as synchronous learning).
7. We do have a few students participating in grades 3-5 Support Hubs. These hubs will operate from 1:15-3:18 pm starting December 7.
8. Students attending in person - 8:10 am arrival, and school day 8:20 am-3:18 pm
Please remember that the earliest time you may drop your student off is 8:10 am.
We ask for your continued patience and support as K-2 teachers navigate this new territory of having students in person while also teaching our virtual students at the same time. We thank you for all your support as we realize this is very difficult for our families.
Un abrazo,
Cynthia Bell
Hybrid Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
This pick up and drop off information pertains to our students who will be coming in person on A cohort days (Mondays and Tuesdays) or B cohort days (Thursdays and Fridays).
Arrival:
1. If you are driving your child(ren) to school, plan to drop Kindergarten students at Door 4; First-grade students at Door 2; and Second-grade students at Door 1. All of these doors are in the front of the building. We will have orange cones out front and teachers will be welcoming students at 8:10 am every morning.
2. Drop-offs should be between 8:10 am and 8:20 am. No early drop-offs prior to 8:10 am. We will not have supervision available for the students.
3. If students are walking to school, they should go directly to their assigned door and get in their designated line. Each class has its own line. Lines will be clearly labeled.
4. Students may not use the playground to play before school.
5. If you drop your student off late - after 8:20 - drop off at door #1 (by the front office). Walk your child to the building. A staff member will come out and let the child in, but the child should be escorted to Door 1 by an adult. In this instance, you would need to park your car in the parking lot and walk your child to the door. Adults will not be allowed to enter the building with the student.
6. Do not park your car in the drop-off line. Use the parking lot to park your car and use the crosswalks.
Dismissal:
1. If students are walking home from school and you want to walk home with your children, plan to meet your child outside of your designated door at the end of the day. Please do not congregate with other families.
2. If you are picking your child up by car, plan to stay in your car and pull into our drive-thru lane. Students who are getting a car pickup will be escorted by their designated door by our flag pole and will wait for their car to pull up. Students will get in the car. You will not need to get out of your car. We will have staff to help get students where they need to be; the same as in the past.
3. You may want to have a sign on your passenger window with the student's name. This will help us expedite your pick up.
4. Please be on time to pick up your students at 3:18 pm on your cohort days.
We will take good care of your children while they are in our care. While this year’s rules and procedures may seem impersonal, know that we are taking all of these safety precautions to take care of your children and to take care of our staff.
Materials Pickup- only for students remaining virtual
Our next materials distribution will be on Monday, December 7th, and Tuesday, December 8th. If your child will be attending the Hybrid schedule starting next week, you will not need to come as the supplies will be sent home with your child. If your child is continuing with the virtual schedule, you will need to come on those days to pick-up their supplies. It will be self serve and will require you to leave your car to gather the materials from the bins at the front of the building.
Please reach out to your child's teacher if the days/times do not work for your family.
Thanks so much!
SCO News
Hello Otters,
The SCO wants to let you know about a few items.
As some K-2 students prepare to return to school, we want to help everyone stay safe. Meadow View masks were purchased for all K-2 students. The masks will be coming home with school supplies for those staying virtual and handed out at school for those returning. Don't worry big kids, you'll get one too as your return date approaches.
All students will have the option of picking a craft or small toy at supply pick up or in school. A small gift from the SCO for the holiday season!
Finally, a reminder to please use Amazon Smile if you are shopping online and to please download the BoxTops app. Fundraising will be limited this year so putting your purchases to work for MV is greatly appreciated.
We are wishing everyone a safe and healthy holiday season!

Meet Ms. Rahaman
My name is Miss Rahaman, and I am a long-term substitute at Meadow View (and whatever else I'll be doing here until June!). I am a graduate student at UW-Madison and I have taught 1st grade and 4K in the past. When I'm not at school, I like hiking with my family, reading books, and hanging out outside with my puppy, Clyde.
Meet Ms. Wolfe
My name is Miss Wolfe, and I am a long-term sub for Mrs. Lee’s Kindergarten class. I grew up in Sun Prairie and I am so excited to be teaching at Meadow View! I have taught 3rd grade in Phoenix, Arizona, and was the Education Manager at a professional children’s theatre in Massachusetts. When I am not teaching, I love to cook, do puzzles, and hike with my new puppy, Ollie.
Meet Ms. Garvin
My name is Lizzie Garvin and I'm so excited to be learning with Ms. Guthrie's class this month. My pronouns are she/her/hers. I love painting with bright colors and reading fun books but most of all, I love to be outside.
Thanks so much!
Attendance Reminders
We take attendance because we know being present in class is important to student success.
During hybrid & distance learning, teachers ought to help students understand the importance of attendance, make class engaging and relevant so that students are drawn to attend, and hold students accountable not just for attending, both also for demonstrating their learning.
Daily attendance will be recorded during hybrid & distance learning. Students will have an entire school day, including the evening hours, to engage with learning and be considered present for class each day, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Attendance will not be taken on Wednesday.
Enjoy this wonderful artwork from Pratyusha that she submitted for her art assignment!
