AES Celebrates Read Across America Week!
Parent Survey
As we continue with our grant work in Lumberton we are looking for your input.
The U.S. Department of Education requires that we survey our students, families and staff to provide a comprehensive picture of our schools' climate. A multi-perspective approach is important because each of the stakeholders experience school climate differently.
The ED School Climate Surveys (EDSCLS) are a suite of survey instruments developed for schools, districts, and states by the U.S. Department of Education's (ED) National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). Lumberton community members can take the survey by clicking here:

Staff Shout Out
MRS. SCACCO
Mrs Scacco’s art lesson videos have been so well done. She always incorporates current holidays or events, and has a fun educational piece to go along with it. Then she is so encouraging as she walks the kids through the art project. Of course she also teaches them about different elements of art as she goes. Recently, she really peaked my kids interest by drawing a character from the “Among Us” game. She is so good at finding what the kids like, and is a fabulous art teacher!
Do you know a staff member who is doing an exceptional job? Please give them a shout out on the Google Form linked below. Your shout out could be featured in our next newsletter!

Principal's Reading Recommendation
For Women's History Month I wanted to highlight a book that I love about a very brave scientist named Eugenie Clark who studied sharks. "Shark Lady" by Jess Keating is a must read for kids who love ocean life and stories about strong women in history! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5jDI_mVFTw
