Isbell Elementary
Loving Every Minute of Learning
Dodson’s Dish
Welcome 2016! I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe winter break. With the unpredictable Texas weather, I am happy to hear that everyone made it back to Frisco safe and sound.
Did you know that each Frisco ISD campus is designated two weeks during the school year where they supply the Frisco Family Services items? Donating within the community is such a great way to teach our children to give to others. Over the next two weeks, Isbell Elementary will be collecting items to donate to the food pantry. For every item your child will get a cotton ball to put on their classroom snowman. The classroom with the most cotton balls will have their teacher dress up as a snowman for the day! Last day for donations is Friday, January 15th. See attached flyer
Our wonderful student council will box up all items on January 15th for the food truck to collect. Please feel free to donate as many items as you can. Your classroom teacher will email a list of specifics that the the food bank is asking for after the holidays. Thank you in advance for donations.
Carpool- Please pull all the way forward. Be courteous to all drivers in the carpool.
Lost and Found Items
Tomorrow is the last day to get your items from our lost and found before we load them up and donate them. Please have your child look during their lunch times or before school starts. (Their teachers have been reminding them also this week.) Our lost and found is in our cafeteria. You as a parent can come and look also in the morning between 7:30am and 8:00am or during your students lunch time, you will need to check in at the front office first.

The next one is scheduled for Thursday, January 14, from 8-9 a.m. in the Independence HS library. Any parent is invited, however, as each one is held, we will draw more attention to it among the families who live within the zone of that particular high school. There is no agenda or topic, just a time for informal conversation with District leaders. Coffee will be provided.
Hoverboards
We wanted to inform you that Frisco ISD will not be allowing Hoverboards on Frisco ISD property. Documented fires have occurred in the use of these devices while charging, as well as during use. Other organizations have also banned their use/presence due to fire risk, including many airlines. If students bring a Hoverboard to campus, the parent will be contacted to pick up the device, as it cannot remain on campus due to the possible risk. This includes all makes and models of Hoverboards. As always, the safety of students and staff is our top priority. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
