QR Code scavenger hunts - QR codes are a 'Quick response' graphical code that when scanned by a QR Reader app (see the app section below) on an IOS device like a phone or IPAD, it will automatically open the encoded website. Creating QR codes is as easy as copying a website address, pasting it into the code generator and selecting download.
QR voice is another website that will record a message or text and create a QR code that links to a spoken message. One very crafty teacher had a brilliant idea to record her student messages to their moms and print the QR codes for a key chain mothers day gift. When mom scans the QR code she can hear her child's message. There is a list of additional great ideas for this program at the website listed below.
With the addition of IPAD labs in many classrooms, creating scavenger hunts or messages for students to discover specific websites of your choosing and research them for information is a great way to control their website wanderings and make use of new technology. See the links below for lesson plan ideas and a QR code generator site.
