SAVE THE DATE!!! Barnes and Noble Book Fair Fundraiser (and a great Domain 4 opportunity! )

We are trying something new this year that I think should be really fun. Just in time for your Christmas shopping, we are having a Book Fair Fundraiser. Our school will be hosting a Book Fair Fundraiser at Barnes and Noble, 160 Orland Park Place in Orland Park on NOVEMBER 20th, 5:30-7:30 P.M. It’s an excellent opportunity to do showcase our school, do some holiday shopping and raise funds. We will be receiving a portion of the sales we bring in that day to purchase books for our library. Glen Oaks had one in September and had a blast.

Participants will be able to build at the Lego Station, get their face painted, purchase a cupcake to decorate and listen to stories being read by Oak Ridge teachers. Artwork from Oak Ridge students will also be displayed throughout the store. Café food such as individual pizzas will be also be available for purchase and will be included our total sales for the night. Come and have dinner!

To do this, I need some help. Looking for volunteers! If you are willing, we will have the following stations. If you are willing to help, just let me know or you can sign up on the google doc I shared with you. Thanks!

    • Lego station
    • Cupcake decorating-1 person (cupcakes come frosted-students are just putting sprinkles and decorations on top of the frosting)
    • Story reading
    • Face Painting
    • Somebody at the front of the store, directing

Scholastic Book Fair was a HUGE success!

Thank you to our amazing PTA and the hours they put it to make the Scholastic Book Fair so much fun for our students. Teachers, your flexibility is a big key to the success of this event, which benefits all of our classrooms by returning the profit back to our classrooms. Thank you for that!
