Water Cycle

The Water Cycle Round, and Round!!!

The Water Cycle

The Water Cycle is the continuous movement of earths water from the ocean to the atmosphere to the land and back to the ocean.

How Water Moves

The Water Cycle can begin anywhere. From condensation, to precipitation, to evaporation. This is how water moves through the water cycle.

The Steps

As I said before the water cycle can begin anywhere. So lets begin at Evaporation!!! Evaporation takes place when water from the ocean and the Earth surface changes into water vapor. Water gains energy during Evaporation.

The next step after Evaporation is Condensation. Condensation takes place when water vapor cools and changes into water droplets that form clouds. Water loses energy during Condensation.

Next is Precipitation. Precipitation is rain, snow, sleet, or hail that falls from clouds onto the Earths land and oceans.

Runoff is Precipitation that flows over land into streams and rivers. This water later enters the ocean.Groundwater is Precipitation that enters the ground and stays below Earths surface.
