Mission Elementary

Riding the Wave of Excellence!

August 21, 2022

Dear Families,

We had a phenomenal first week of school! Thank you for your flexibility as we help our students adjust to their new classrooms, schedule, and learning expectations. We are confident that this will be an amazing year!

This week teachers will continue to review school and classroom procedures and expectations. In addition to classroom community-building practices, Mr. Espinoza and I will hold behavior expectations assemblies to guide students on the procedures we follow so that we can all contribute to a safe environment. Please help us by holding conversations with your scholars about the importance of taking turns, following game rules, and understanding that we all share the campus so it is important that we are kind to one another. We already see lots of acts of kindness happening. In just three days of school, students remembered it is important to pick up after themselves, work collaboratively, and encourage one another!

2022-2023 School Schedule: detailed school schedule is linked HERE.

Chrome Device Protection Plan: Consider purchasing this optional insurance for your scholar's device. OUSD has made this support a much more efficient process and it is less costly than paying for an entire device.

School Meals: All meals will continue to be offered at no cost to all scholars. This year, however, students will learn and use their lunch number for accountability purposes.

ASAP is our before and after school program. If you wish to enroll your scholar, please use the ASAP Application linked here. Paper copies are available in our office. Space is limited.

School Uniforms: We recommend that students wear uniforms because when they wear uniforms, students focus on their learning rather than their clothing. Uniforms can be purchased at Costco, Walmart, and other stores. I recommend that you call the store and ask if they sell school uniforms prior to going. The uniform consists of:

  • Tops: White, grey, light blue, or navy shirts or blouses (only Mission logos allowed)

  • Bottoms: Navy blue, khaki, or black pants, blue jeans, shorts, skirt or jumper

  • Shoes: Closed-toe and closed-heel shoes

Have you completed your student's data confirmation? In order for students to continue their enrollment at Mission, it is necessary that you complete the online Data Confirmation. You will be confirming that the information about your student that we have in our system is still accurate or making any necessary updates.

To complete your data confirmation, please log into your Aeries Parent Portal.

Need help? You can contact our office or visit oside.us/Page/137 for directions and video tutorials. Our office number is (760) 966-8700. Registration hours are from 9:00am-2:00pm.
