A RACIAL JUSTICE DINE & DIALOGUE
Let's Talk EquityMatterz in Education
We've Been Here Before: Educational Justice and the 'not so new' Political Moment
Join us at the Pearson Center for this intergenerational community-centered conversation featuring national Social Justice Scholar Dr. David Stovall of the University of Illinois at Chicago. Table talk discussions co-facilitated by local teachers and high school youth leaders of color; a light dinner snack is provided. An activity room for young children not participating in table talk discussions (ages 3-10) also available. This is a conversation you will not want to miss! Grab family, friends, and most importantly local youth, and come participate in the dialogue! RSVP feature has been disabled because this event is to full capacity! Please be on the lookout for more events like this soon.
EQUITYMATTERZ: Stovall Dine & Dialogue
This event is one of a series of special speaker events primarily fiscally-sponsored by UNLV’s Abriendo Caminos/Opening Pathways for Students of Color into the Teaching Profession: Giving Back to the Community through Teaching grant project, funded by the Nevada Department of Education (NDE) through the Great Teaching and Leading Fund (GTLF), Dr. Norma A. Marrun, PI. Touro University Nevada's (TUN) School of Education (SOE) has joined forces with UNLV and its partner, CCSD’s Equity and Diversity Education Department, along with a broad collaborative of local educational organizations to collaboratively co-sponsor this and three additional special speaker events. TUN's SOE serves as one of several lead planners for the Friday evening EQUITYMATTERZ Social Justice Dine and Dialogue sessions. This is the first of three such sessions.
