The Buddy Bench is Here!

4th grade worked all year to collect caps for the Buddy Bench on the upper playground, and it's finally here! Here's a fun math problem for you to figure out how many caps were delivered to Green Tree Plastics to create the bench:

We took 12 large garbage bags to Green Tree Plastics. The total weight of the bags was 637 pounds. On average, 7 caps weigh 1 ounce. How much did each bag weigh? How many caps were in the bags? How many caps were in each bag? It takes 400 lbs of caps for each bench, how many caps is that?

Thank you to all of our PVE families who donated caps, and thank you to our PTO for providing the $225 for assembly! Our 1st grade students are continuing to collect caps in order to get another bench for Pleasant Place! They are almost there!

ZCS News and Info

1st Grade Service Project

Please donate your caps! Mrs. Hall's 1st grade is continuing the effort collecting caps and lids to recycle and make a Buddy Bench for the Pleasant Place playground just like our 4th grade students did for the upper playground! This is made possible through the ABC Promise Partnership. Click here for more information about the process. Students are collecting plastic caps, lids, and recycle numbers 2, 4, and 5. They cannot accept metal of any kind, trigger sprayers, fast food drink lids, or soap/lotion pumps.
