#CelebrateMonday
November 20, 2017
Isn't is a beautiful thing that every day is a fresh start? And it's even more wonderful that every Monday is a fresh beginning! We have the chance to start over and be the leaders we truly want to be - and our students have the chance to start over and be the students they truly want to be.
But, for that to be true, we have to be willing to let go and to really allow ourselves (and others) to start fresh. We have to put aside what happened yesterday, over the weekend, or last week, and allow ourselves (and others) to begin again.
I'm so grateful for the chance to begin again every single day!
I can't even begin to imagine a better group of people to spend my days and weeks with every year! The passion and dedication to students that each one of you has is contagious and makes me a better educator and leader! Whether you work directly with students each day or if you are behind the scenes helping to make sure that students have all that they need (buildings, books, food, etc.), I am so grateful for all that you give, every single day, to this incredibly important work of serving staff and students!
Thank you all for learning with me, laughing with me, pondering and problem-solving with me, and chasing your passion with me! We are better together, and I am better because each one of you adds so much value to my work and to my life!
To #CelebrateMonday today, I celebrate the gift of you! To #CelebrateMonday, I invite you to celebrate the gift of you as well! Reflect on all the awesome that you do and bring to this work and to the entire world around you! Be grateful for the gift you are to others!
This work that we do is difficult, but we can still be grateful for each moment, no matter how difficult! There is always something positive to be learned or gained even from those difficult moments.
Knowing how much you give of yourself to this work every day, my hope is that you take this extra long weekend to engage in restorative practices for your mind, body and soul. Take time to rest, to laugh, and pursue what brings you peace!
Cheers!
