The Ku Klux Klan
By: Nicole H. Schlesselman
What?
The Ku Klux Klan (KKK) was a group of people that dressed entirely in white, and went around burning churches, and African Americans homes. They sometimes even killed.
Where?
Mostly in Washington, DC. But it was in a lot of other places too.
When?
In the late 1800s to the mid-1900s.
Why?
This happened because a lot of people didn't like the African Americans, and didn't want them to have equal rights.
