Welcome to Preschool 2!
Please Bring:
- An updated family picture (you can email this to Emily: ephillips@cremedelacreme.com)
- Nap-time supplies (Crib sheet, blanket and small stuffed animal)
- Extra clothes (including shoes, accidents happen)
- Nap Time Pull-Ups (only enough for the week; we do not have storage for entire packages).
Curriculum Component Overview:
Frog Street Specifics: Dr. Pam Schiller
- Balances intentional instruction with child directed play.
- Provides comprehensive, integrated, thematic (13) activities in all 5 learning domains:
1. Language development (read, speak and sing)
2. Physical development (balance, coordination and control)
3. Cognitive development (understanding life’s patterns)
4. Social/emotional development (the foundation of life skills)
5. Approaches towards learning resides with all the other 4 domains.
These approaches include:

- Differentiated Instruction: Adaptations for special needs; Adaptations for younger learners; Challenge opportunities for ready learners
- Joyful Learning: High interest Topics and Materials; Songs, Stories, Fingerplays, and Games; Opportunities to Laugh and Play
Conscious Discipline: Dr. Becky Bailey
- Comprehensive classroom management and social emotional program, which focuses on:
- Creating a learning environment where children feel safe and loved
- Regulating Behavior and Emotions
- Prosocial skills to help them learn how to act appropriately with peers
“Brain Smart Way to Start the Day.”
4 Part Routine to set the tone for their emotional well -being and help them focus on prosocial behavior:
1. Unite: Sing a song or two together (theme related)
2. Calm: De-stressing activity, repeat three times
3. Connect: Acknowledge friends who are absent and wish them well, and welcome back friend who were absent. Work with a partner to learn how to be gentle, make eye contact, and stay in their body space.
4. Build Community: Challenge to commit to being a responsible member of the class. Place their name/picture in the “safekeeper box” to symbolize the classroom as a safe place.

What to Expect: LifeCubby!
In Preschool, you can expect:
- Breakfast, Lunch & Snacks: what your child ate for each meal
- Daily Lesson Plan
- Bathroom: Accidents Only
- Nap Times
- Minimum of 1 Individual Photo/Observation Per Week
- 1 Whole Group Observation Daily - related to curriculum
- Messaging between the classroom teachers & you. Please note, the teacher's cannot message all day long, but will provide you with a quick answer.
- Tracking of your child 's movement in the building (playground times, enrichment classes)

Experience: I took an Early Childhood Education class in HS & had the opportunity to intern at various child care centers in the area! I also have grown up taking care of my younger siblings
