Arroyo Seco Jr. High School -- April 19, 2019
Principal's Message
Hello Seco Families,
This coming week is Administrative Professionals Week, a time when we recognize the hard work and contributions of our amazing office staff and secretaries. We are very fortunate at Arroyo Seco to have a number of outstanding individuals who provide a wealth of administrative support. Without their help, we could not function as a school. Please join me in thanking them for all of their hard work.
A special congratulations to our fantastic Band Director Mr. Kelvin Flores for being named Arroyo Seco's 2019-20 Teacher of the Year! This is truly a well deserved honor. Thank you, Mr. Flores, for all that you do.
We look forward to seeing many of you at our spring musical production of Disney's Peter Pan Jr. this coming week. See below for more details.
Please be cautious and patient when picking up and dropping off your children, and follow all traffic guidelines. We know that vehicle and foot traffic are heaviest just before and after school. You can drop off your children after 7 am in the morning. After school, traffic is mostly cleared out after 2:20; waiting 10 minutes can help to reduce congestion. We appreciate your support in helping to ensure the safety of all of our students.
Next Friday, April 26, is the end of the 4th quarter progress reporting period.
CAASPP (California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress) testing starts in a week and will be conducted from April 29 through May 17. Students will follow their normal class schedule during this time, including Late Start Wednesdays. Please make sure that your children get a good night's sleep, arrive to school on time, and are well fed so that they can do their best. It is also important that they are here every day since they will be testing in one or two classes each day. Thank you for your support and for encouraging your children to take the tests seriously so that the results will accurately reflect the abilities of the great students we have here at Arroyo Seco!
Have a great weekend.

Hope in a Suitcase
We have a box in Arroyo Seco's front office where individuals can drop off NEW clothing for children entering the foster system. While all sized clothing is appreciated there is a particular need for teenage boy clothing and shoes. Donations of fleece to make blankets are also being accepted. The fleece needs to be 48" x 60" or larger. The box will be in the front office until May 8th.
