Cedar Grove Friday Flash
November 18, 2022
Dear Cedar Grove Families,
As a reminder, Parent/Teacher conferences will take place on November 21 and 22. We hope that you will be able to take this time to meet with your child's teacher. It's not too late to contact your child's teacher to schedule a conference!
The weather has quickly become colder, so please be sure your child is dressed appropriately. Students will continue to go outdoors for recess as long as the temperature is above freezing, and some of the students have not been wearing warm coats, hats, or gloves this week. Please encourage your child to dress warmly for the colder weather. Thank you.

Please take a few minutes to share your input for next year’s school calendar. This quick survey seeks to gauge the community’s opinions on the calendar scenarios developed for the 2023–2024 school year. Staff will use your feedback to develop a final recommendation to be presented at the Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, December 6. Let your voice be heard and share your input by Monday, November 30.
Due to the upcoming holiday week, there may be larger gatherings with family and friends or travel, which may involve a higher risk of exposure to COVID-19. MCPS has provided all schools with new COVID test kits to distribute to students. Testing is voluntary and may best be utilized just before students and staff return from the holiday weekend on November 28. Please take a few moments to review the letter linked below. Test kits will be distributed to students this Monday, November 21 to bring home. If you have any questions, please call the school office.
Due to the upcoming short week, the next Flash will be sent on December 2nd. Have a great weekend and enjoy the holiday break!

Grade Level Newsletters
Parents, this year we will be sending all grade level newsletters each week in the Friday Flash, rather than having individual teachers send them.
