Summer Reading 2018

@ ReedLMC

Curious about Summer Reading?

Reading and writing during summer months is an important way to keep your skills sharp, and make the transition from summer vacation back into the school year much easier!

Rising 5th and 6th Graders, this is the place for you - just keep reading, and you will find everything you need!

Rising 7th graders, you should keep an eye on the home page of the Newtown Middle School website moving forward... but here are links to the summer letter and reading log to get you started.

Use the Five-Finger Rule to make a great choice!

The hardest - and most frustrating - thing about selecting a new book and getting excited to read is the realization that it's a little too hard for you right now... save yourself some pain! Get back to basics, watch the video below, and then remember to use the Five-Finger Rule!

"Challenge" Yourself!

At Reed Intermediate School, we also recommend that students participate in The 2018 Governor's Summer Reading Challenge - it's a wonderful way to keep track of favorites, new and old! (And yes, you can log the books for the Summer Reading assignment above!)
