HOLY ROSARY NEWSLETTER
Term 3 Week 9 Friday 17 September
The story goes that Saint Ignatius of Loyola (1491 – 1556) spent about a year trying to get closer to Jesus by living as a beggar, attending Mass daily, spending his days in prayer and by scourging himself as repentance for his sins. One day he sat on the banks of a river in Manressa, Catalonia, Spain, he watched as a woman did her family’s washing in the river; her children happily playing near her. The sun was shining. The birds were singing. And Saint Ignatius felt happy. He realised that day, that God was present in all people, in all things and in every situation; and that God enjoyed and loves His Creation and wants us to enjoy it with Him and to give Him thanksgiving and our love.

FROM MARK
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Many of our children will make their first Communion on Saturday night. We pray that this message of God’s presence is truly evident to them.
Rob Flexman has again excelled with a fabulous carnival today! Our children had a terrific time. To get a carnival to this point takes a lot of work and I thank Rob, the many staff who assisted, and the big number of parent volunteers today for everything that they have done to make this such an enjoyable day. And to our children, who gave of their best, and who supported one another, congratulations and thank you!
We celebrate the end of term with a whole school mass in the Church at 9am and we really would love it if you could join us for this special occasion.
Enjoy the weekend

BUILDING UPDATE
The new Siena Centre and admin block are scheduled for completion by next week, September 24, the last day of term. During the week we will be relocating equipment from Siena which is in the demountable and in the library, to the new building. Likewise we aim to do the same with the office. Please be patient with us next week as the moving is going to be a huge event. Furthermore, communications will be dependent on how smoothly the Telstra connections move from the current office to the new one.
School opens on Tuesday October 12 and we intend to be settled in and operational by this time. If the main entrance is also fully functional - and we believe it will be - the gates in front of Year Six will accordingly remain closed.
We look forward to our Siena Gang being in their beautiful new space, as well as having a functional admin block!
COVID-19 VACCINATIONS
Vaccination is now open for Western Australians aged 12-16 at all State-run vaccination clinics. Bookings are currently essential. Parents and guardians can register their children as a dependent under their account and book them an appointment by visiting Roll up for WA.

LIBRARY NEWS
As we approach the end of term 3, all overdue and lost books need to be finalised. Students from year 1 upwards will borrow books for the holidays next week and those with outstanding overdues or lost books are requested to please return them or purchase new copies before term 4. This means less chasing up at the end of the year and a smoother transition of our library into 2022. Thanks so much for your support of your school library.
Have a lovely weekend.
