What Lessons Have We Learned?

What have we learned since March, after 9 months in a public health crisis? What lessons can we derive from this experience? Chief among them for me, as I've witnessed our entire district community work so hard to find our moorings in an extraordinary situation, is that community counts. Our support of and connections to each other have made all the difference as we've grappled with new protocols, new schedules, new demands, as well as new opportunities. Continuing to build a healthy community is an investment worth making.

Thank you to our entire Morris School District faculty and staff, our Board of Education, our parents and guardians, and our students for all that you have done to nourish and protect this most precious investment.

Wishing you well for the holiday season, and a new year full of promise,

Mackey Pendergrast

MHS VIRTUAL WINTER SHOWCASE

The showcase features beautiful artwork and culinary creations as well as choral, band, orchestra, and wind ensembles reconfigured for a virtual format. You'll also hear from our inspiring students about how music has helped them navigate the complexities of the present time. Thank you to TEAM, the NJEA, our art and music teachers, and, most especially, our extraordinary students for this holiday gift!

ELEMENTARY WINTER ART SHOW

Students learned a range of new concepts and techniques this fall in their virtual art classes. Click the button below to view a compilation of their masterpieces, which art teacher Mrs. Levine put together for students and families to enjoy.

PRESCHOOLERS ENJOY TREE STUDY AT LLC

Preschoolers at Lafayette Learning Center have been engaged in a long investigation during their Tree Study this fall. Students explored their understanding through inquiry as they observed, analyzed, and learned all about trees. They had lots of fun both indoors and out while expanding their skills in literacy, math, science and art.
