A Note from the Principal
The month of October each year is dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary. Tomorrow, October 7, is the liturgical feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. This feast was created to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary in gratitude for the protection that she gives the Church. During this month, Catholics honor Mary and pray the rosary. I encourage you to set aside time as a family to celebrate the month of the rosary in one of the following ways:
- Pray the rosary together as a family. Click here if you need a refresher.
- Make a rosary with your kids. Follow these directions.
- Create a small Our Lady of the Rosary altar in your home.
- Visit the shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes not far from us in Euclid. The shrine and grotto are replicas of the original shrine in Lourdes, France, where Mary appeared to St. Bernadette.
Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Finaly, good luck to our seventh and eighth graders competing in Brain Brawl at St. Ignatius High School on Saturday and to al off our fall sports teams involved in tournament play this weekend! GO GREEN KNIGHTS!
Peace and blessings,
Diane Raguz, Principal
ROCK THE RED!
Saint Paschal Baylon Catholic School will "ROCK THE RED" tomorrow, Friday, October 7, by dressing down in Cleveland Guardians or Cleveland Indians gear or wearing something RED! Students may also wear their regular Friday uniform, if they wish.
GO GUARDIANS!
New Technology Coordinator/Teacher
Mrs. Souers has 16 years of experience and spent the majority of her teaching career in public schools but also has some experience in Catholic schools. She has taught technology, music, and math. She lives in Highland Heights with her husband Dustin and her two children. Mrs. Souers enjoys doing puzzles, building and repairing computers, learning computer programming languages, and RV camping with her family. She shared, "Having been a parent in the SPB community for the last 8 years has been such a blessing and wonderful experience. I am most excited about my blessing, privilege, and pleasure to now be able to 'give back' as a member of the amazing faculty/staff/community here at SPB."
We are thrilled to have her in this position, and she will begin teaching on Monday. Welcome, Mrs. Souers!

Fall Altar Server Training for New & Current Servers
We want you to feel comfortable in this important ministry of service to the church, the altar, and our priests. The first training will be for ALL third graders through eighth-grade current and NEW altar servers. The rest of the weeks will be for only the new servers. New servers may look to the parish website and train with the special Altar Server Training Video, a college project. Here are the dates:
- Tuesday, October 18, 2:35 pm in church
- Tuesday, October 25, 2:35 pm in church
- Tuesday, November 15, 2:35 pm in church.
- INSTALLATION MASS: Sunday, November 20, 10:30 am - be at church at 10:10 for instruction/practice.
After care will be provided free by Father Lane, who is conducting the training with our deans of altar serving. We are grateful to the parents for giving their children this opportunity that so many of us had when we were in grade & high school to serve at the altar of God. For those youth who are not able to make all the practices or any, please let Father Lane know and you may come on the weekends to “shadow” with a current server for “on-the-job training." To register, please contact Kathryn Mailer, Coordinator: katmailer416@gmail.com
Playground Volunteers Needed-Grades 7, 6
We are asking that each family (mom, dad, grandma, etc.) choose at least two days to volunteer each time slot being 11:10 am-12:55 pm. There are many, many time slots open! We are so grateful for the help!
Grade 7 families are asked to volunteer in October and Grade 6 families in November.
This is a great way for you to interact with your child and his/her classmates during the school day! Recess Volunteers should arrive to school at 11:10 and check in at the office. Duties will include supervising students at recess, escorting the students to and from the school doors. Volunteers will be with one school staff member each day to help direct.
Remember that after your two volunteer time slots, you are done for the year, as each month is assigned to a different grade.
Thank you again for your time and service to the students and teachers of SPB! Simply click on the following links to sign up: Grade 7, Grade 6
