FMSD Virtual Art Show

Please see the message below about the FMSD Virtual Art Show. The webpage that has been created can be accessed through the button below this message.

Welcome to the Fort Mill Schools Virtual Art Show! Our dedicated visual arts teachers have been working hard to create unique learning experiences for students across our district this year. Each day, students are exploring creative expression, developing artistic techniques, and learning to communicate visually. The artwork displayed was selected and curated to celebrate our visual arts programs. We are so proud of the students who were chosen to represent their school in the 2021 FMSD Virtual Art Show!

Duke Energy Nuclear Preparedness

It's the time of year when we typically distribute the pamphlets from Duke Energy detailing important information for people who live within 10 miles of the Catawba Nuclear Power Plant. Below is also a link for that you can utilize to access that same important information.

FMMS Summer Reading List

For rising 6th graders who will be attending Fort Mill Middle School next year, the link below contains the summer reading list.

There are no projects or worksheets that need to be completed during the summer. Instead, when students return to school in August, they will participate in book club discussions about the books they chose. If they want to keep post-it note annotations in their books as reminders of things they would like to discuss, this is encouraged but no required.

#BeehindTheMask Project

This year has brought about a new challenge in our Junior Jacket Community. With masks, visitor restrictions, and the inability to meet in large groups as a school community, it has been difficult to get to know one another. We wanted to continue building our sense of community and bring everyone together like the amazing family we are. So we decided to do a little project called "Bee-hind the Mask".

Each week, from now until the end of the school year, we will spotlight several staff members, using a picture and their answers to a fun survey we sent out for everyone to complete. Hopefully we will all be able to be together in person again soon, but until then, please enjoy getting to know our Junior Jacket Staff a little bit better!

This week we are featuring Tracy Simpson (Reading Recovery), Natalya Segarra (1st Grade), Erin Love (Lead Teacher, and Andrea Fraiman (2nd Grade).

District COVID Protocols

If you have any questions about whether or not your child should quarantine, please be sure to review our district Return to School Guide. There are links in the buttons below. If you still have questions, please be sure to contact Nurse Cindy Caldwell, or any of your 3 school administrators for clarification.

Celebration Baskets

When ordering celebration baskets, please make sure to try to place the order roughly two weeks in advance. This allows time for our cafeteria staff to receive the information and prepare the order. The link to order the baskets is located below in the 'Click here to order celebration baskets' button.

Attendance Reminder

If your student is going to be absent, please email their teacher and copy the attendance clerk, Erin Swetta at swettae@fortmillschools.org. Included in the note should be your student’s first and last name and the reason for their absence. If the absence is related to an illness, please also copy Nurse Caldwell at caldwellc@fortmillschools.org. If your student is seen by a doctor, please send in the doctor’s excuse with your student or email them directly to Ms. Swetta. Thank you for helping us keep up to date and accurate records.

Information from our School Nurse

If there is ANY household member or person that you or your family is in close contact with that has tested positive for Covid, please make sure to notify the school nurse at caldwellc@fortmillschools.org or 803-548-8291. If there is a positive case in the household, we must quarantine all family members within the household per SC DHEC and FMSD Covid Return to School Protocol.
