New Exhibit in the St.Peter Renaissance Museum

The new exhibit in the St.Peter Renaissance Museum includes four famous artists and their works from the Renaissance time period in Europe. These four artists are Masaccio, Michelangelo, Raphael, and Donatello.

Masaccio (1401-1426)

Masaccio was a painter who was born in San Giovanni Valdarno, Italy and died in Rome, Italy. He was said to be the best painter of his time because of his ability to recreate lifelike figures and he also had a huge influence on many other artists after him.

Michelangelo (1475-1564)

Michelangelo was born on March 6th, 1475 and died on February 18, 1564. He was a sculptor, painter, architect, poet, and an engineer. He is considered on of the greatest artists of all time because of his ability to be so versatile.

Raphael (1483-1520)

Raphael was born in 1483 in Urbino City, Italy. He died in 1520 in Rome, Italy. He was a painter and architect. His work is known for its clarity and ease.

Donatello (1386-1466)

Donatello was a sculptor who was born and died in Florence, Italy. He is known for his work in bas-relief. Bas-relief is projecting an image on something using a shallow depth. Bas-relief is used on coins.
