Updates:

Parent/Teacher Conferences: I am in trainings all day on February 15-16. Please check ParentVUE or have your student show you their StudentVUE to review their grades. I will contact parents of students I am concerned about this week. If you would like a phone call, please email me or reach out via the remind app.

COMPUTERS: Please make sure your child charges their computer at home and brings it to school every day. Please remind students to be careful with their computers! It damages them if they are left in the car, or if they aren't carefully charged (those little pins are delicate!).

Mask wearing: As cases increase throughout the Valley, it is more important than ever for students and staff alike to wear their masks in the building. Please remind students that they must wear their masks in the classroom. We have frequent mask breaks throughout the day.

Remind App: Please sign up for our remind app if you haven't already! The classroom code for the Remind app is @cassidy121

The Remind App is the best way to get a hold of me. You may also call the classroom (357-3733) and leave a message. My office hours are 8:30 am - 4 pm Monday through Friday.

DROP OFF TIME: Doors open at 8:40 am. Please do not drop your student off without seeing a staff member outside with the door open.

Classwork: Classwork is found in the Google Classroom and APEX for English and Math. We have included more book work for those in class, but we are still doing most of our work in Google Classroom. If your student is missing a lot of days, the in person paper/book work will be exempted for your child.

SUBWAY FRIDAYS: Be on the lookout for the paper coming home. It must be turned in with cash or check by Thursday to participate.

Fun things:

Ask your students about:
  • Science Fair - Please ensure your student completes their experiment!
  • 2/12/2021 Valentine's Exchange - bring a box and cards for your friends
  • Art - Rippy Bits Art project
  • Technology - NEW 3D Printer!!
  • History/Literature - Black History Month

Dress for the Weather!

Dress for the Weather: Don't forget your winter gear! We go outside as much as possible for mask breaks, so it is important that all students bring appropriate outside gear; i.e. coats, boots, hats, gloves, etc.

IF YOUR CHILD IS SICK:

Please keep them at home! They must be symptom free for 24 hours before they can return to school. If they exhibit signs that could be Covid-19 (cough, fever, etc) they must also have a negative Covid test. Capstone and Mat-Su Regional Urgent Care are providing Covid tests. If you have further questions, please contact Mrs. Harren in the office.

Students can (and should) access their schoolwork online through our Google Classroom & APEX when it is necessary for them to be at home. We work on this every day in the classroom and all students are very experienced in navigating these platforms.

Upcoming Dates:

  • Progress Reports: live on ParentVUE and StudentVUE now
  • Wednesday February 10: Early Release at 2:30 PM
  • Friday February 12: Classroom Valentine's Exchange
  • February 15-16: NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS
