St. Columba's Primary School
NEWSLETTER | TERM 3 | WEEK 3 | 6 AUGUST 2020
Loving God, when you created the world and all the people in it, you gave us a special person called Mary MacKillop. We thank you for her life and the example to live as Jesus did.
Message form the Principal
We have had a very busy start to the term. The Year 4 Assembly was a great hit and the Year 4 students and teachers are to be congratulated on the work they put into preparing and presenting their item. For this term there will only be individual class assemblies, as we are still required to social distance. At these class assemblies, parents and carers of the class presenting the assembly and parents and carers of students receiving awards are able to attend so that social distancing can be managed..
There will be a P&F Meeting on Tuesday August 18 at 7:00 pm in the staffroom.
There is now a Private Facebook Group 'St Columba’s Second Hand Uniform' where parents can swap and sell second hand uniforms. Details follow in the newsletter.
The next Board Meeting will be held on Wednesday August 12 at 7:00 pm in the staffroom.
Many thanks to Mr Chatt for organising and preparing the students for the upcoming Cross Country event. The students have been training very enthusiastically.
At this stage the Father’s Day Breakfast is on hold due to social distancing protocols. I am waiting to see what happens with the easing of the next stage of restrictions from the State Government and then the advice put out from CEWA regarding social distancing.
God Bless and stay safe.

The Feast of Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop
“Never see a need without doing something about it.”
This week, we honour St Mary MacKillop who met the great challenges of her time with vision, passion and creativity. She was known for her love of the poor and marginalised and lived by the motto to never see a need without doing something about it. Mary is a model for us here in Australia, may we reflect on her life and follow her example through our active discipleship.
