The Manning Weekly Update
November 7, 2022

Hello Manning Parents,
We completed a "Lockdown" drill Monday, November 7 and it went very well. Our students have done a great job this year during all of our safety drills.
Please make a note that Monday, December 19 will be a school day for all students. Tuesday, December 20 will be a school day only for students who need to make up a final exam. Our Holiday Break begins on Wednesday, December 21.
The deadline for the Medication Agreements for Outdoor lab is tomorrow, 11/8. If your student is going to Outdoor lab this paperwork must be turned in for all medications, even over the counter medications.
Thanks for all your support -
Mike Collins, Principal

Sugar party | We heard parents say their kids just didn’t get enough sugar last week, so we’ll be turning it up in a couple classes this afternoon! The 26 busy bees in Mendez’s 7th/8th grade class and the 25 sixth graders on Team McLeod will be showered with root beer floats to celebrate their big wins with their access baskets. McLeod received 20 bids totaling $345 and Mendez had so many high ticket items we needed to split them out to create multiple baskets, ultimately bringing in an impressive $706. Many, many thanks to all the families who contributed - we’re still running on a high from last week’s Fall Fest!
Restaurant Night | Wednesday (11/9) is looking like a perfect night to meet-up with some friends and let someone else handle dinner and drinks. Join us at the Golden Mill to toast all the things we’re thankful for - starting with The Golden Mill returning 10% of all sales that day back to Manning! No flyer needed.
PTA Meeting | The November PTA meeting has been moved to 3:45PM on November 11/ 17. The afternoon meeting for this month and in January will hopefully be better for some of our members and faculty. We will still offer some morning meetings in the new year. We hope to see you in-person or virtually -- look for the Google Meet link in next week's newsletter.
