The Memory Project
Once again this year, HMS students used their artistic talents art as a way to connect with children from across the globe. About thirty-four middle school artists participated in the Memory Project with Mrs. LaPointe. These students created portraits based on photos they received of children living in India who are facing hardships. The completed portraits are being delivered to the children in India along with messages of friendship and support from Hingham.
Great job by our HMS artists!

March Madness with the Ambassador Club
The Ambassadors Club is having the second annual school-wide March Madness bracket competition.
The Ambassador Club students created this bracket challenge as a way to have fun and bring the school together in a friendly competition during what is often regarded as the longest month of the school year: March!
Students from all grades can join in and have fun, and have a chance to win gift card prizes! Scan the QR codes on the posters around the building, or click the link that was distributed to the teachers to join the fun. Brackets will be released on March 12th and should be submitted by March 16!
Madame Weiss' grade seven student recently learned about some of the traditions and celebrations observed in France related to Mardis Gras, including the burning of "Monsieur Carnaval". Students learned that these figures that were burned to signify the end of winter and to welcome the spring, so they constructed some of their own and did just that. Let's hope this celebration means that spring is on the way!
A special "thanks" to Lt. DeNapoli from the Hingham Fire Department who joined us and made sure all were safe during this celebration!
Students in Spanish class practiced Wellness Wednesday by celebrating the "Word of the Week" - "SONRISA", which means "SMILE".
We created a "Muralla de Sonrisas" (Smile Wall) where students wrote their names, drew smiley faces, and added some images that made them smile.
We all agreed that it was a great way to start the day - with a smile!
