5th Grade Celebration of Learning
We will be outside on the hill near the Library. Extended family and younger siblings are welcome. While we will have some chairs available, guests are invited to bring their own or a picnic blanket. If we are outside and you want a younger sibling in grades K-4 to attend, please keep him/her home in the morning and come together. We will not have enough time to call students out of class!
Should the weather not be suitable for an outdoor celebration, we will have to move to the Gym and limit entry to TWO people per family. A message will go out to families that morning. Overflow will be invited to go into the Cafe and watch a livestream of the ceremony.

Odds & Ends
- Volunteers Needed - Help is needed to apply polyurethane to rocks for our rock garden in WTE’s rock garden! If you can help, please email gteodecki@wcasd.net
- Ticks - Students are definitely outside more and we have a few events still left. It is a good idea to check for ticks each day and continue throughout the summer. Pennsylvania is known for Here are some additional resources related to ticks: PSU Department of Entomology and Centers for Disease Control.
- Student Interactions - As we gather for EOY events, there are often opportunities for parents to volunteer or visit. Just recently we had our Walk for Hope, Field Day, and the picnic. To help keep the experience positive for everyone, please remember that what you are comfortable with as a parent may be different than another parent. Therefore, doing things such as picking up another student, twirling someone else's child around, and such are not recommended because not everyone is comfortable with this level of interaction. We hope everyone talks, mingles, and builds community with each other.
- Staff Information - In case you did not hear, we do have some staff leaving WTE. Gary Pester is shifting to Stetson Middle School and Lauren Leary is going to Mary C. Howse. While each will be missed, I know they will do great things in their new school! Updates about new staff and any changes made to grade level teams will occur over the summer. I will send out a mid-summer report and start regularly communicating in August.
