News from Our School
Friday, December 5, 2014
This week Ashley Ahlert, from the Children's Emergency Shelter, was on campus and talked with K-5th grade about the work they do at the shelter. The children asked great questions and learned a lot. Don't forget we are collecting quarters for the Shelter this month. Ashley will join us on Friday, December 19 for our Community Ceremony and check presentation.

Students in grades 3-5 will compete in the school spelling bee on Thursday, December 11. The winner will advance to the county bee to be held in January. If you have a child in these grades, Mrs. Clayton will send you additional information. They do have a list of words to be practicing.

Read-a-thon and More!
The read-a-thon is always a lot of fun for our students. If you opted to fundraise as part of your tuition, or you receive financial aid, it is a wonderful opportunity to meet your spring goal and your first opportunity of the semester. Simply ask friends and family to pledge money for the number of pages or books your child reads (or you read to them). More information will be e-mailed and sent home after we return from break.
We hope you will join us for our kick-off on Monday, January 12. We have several special guests and local celebrities who will be joining us. So, make plans to attend!
Lost and Found
Please remember to check the lost and found if your child is missing any articles of clothing. The items in the lost and found are not labeled, so we do not know to whom they belong. Anything that is not claimed by Friday, December 19 will be donated to the Golden Rules Clothes Closet.
Teacher Holiday Fund
Please remember to make your donation to the Teacher Holiday Fund by Wednesday, December 17, if you are interested in participating. This is in lieu of purchasing gifts for individual teachers. If you have questions or for more information, please call the school office.
