HOLY ROSARY NEWSLETTER
Term 1 Week 5 Friday 12 March

FROM MARK
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The anticipation is building! Dads and Kids Campout is on this Saturday. A record number of families have registered. This annual event is eagerly anticipated. Nathan Byrne and his posse have for a number of years been invested in managing this event, and have done so, superbly. This is Nathan’s last year of being connected to Holy Rosary as from 2022 all his children are in high school. Thank you Nathan for your outstanding work in our community!
Assemblies commence next week, with the Year Six Gang on deck. We anticipate a lot of people would like to attend. We ask please that parents and guardians of these children, together with the parents and guardians of children receiving awards ONLY, are in attendance. Some chairs will be available, but we are aware many will stand in order to record this awesome event. Social distancing then (2 square metre in accordance with the State Government announcement of WA COVID-19 Roadmap, Phase 4b) be up to those attending to manage.
Thank you for continuing to clear the school grounds by 3.15. Thank you also to the vast majority of parents and guardians who are abiding by our expectation that they will remain out of the classrooms. Please, no exceptions.
Huge numbers were in evidence at the Sacramental commitment Masses on the weekend, especially on Saturday night. What a great start!
Have a great weekend! Happy camping!

Au revoir Mrs Rom Strack!
Rom, thank you for taking good care of our Year Five Dominic Gang in Lachie’s absence. We so appreciate your being available at short notice to do so.
P&F MEETING ON TUESDAY, 6-7 IN THE STAFF ROOM
This will be followed by a Happy Hour, also in the staff room, for all Class Reps. This is a first, and a great idea. Here’s to a great turnout!
BUILDING UPDATE
A lot of steel has been delivered and is due to go up on the Siena pad. The timing of this is dependent on when the next pad for the admin block is being done. The brickwork next to Kindy constitutes a sacrificial pad for the main pad. It is there to stop the new pad pushing up against the Kindy.
MERIT AWARD RECIPIENTS FOR YEAR 6 ASSEMBLY ON FRIDAY 19 MARCH

EDUDANCE CONCERTS
Edudance concerts for Dominic Classes take place in the gym at 2pm on Monday March 29, and for Catherine Classes at 2pm on Wednesday March 31. This is a fantastic culmination to a great term of dancing! We anticipate a lot of people would like to attend. With your help I’m sure we can make it work.
We ask please that parents and guardians of these children ONLY, are in attendance. Some chairs will be available, but we are aware many will stand in order to record this awesome event. Social distancing then (2 square metre in accordance with the State Government announcement of WA COVID-19 Roadmap, Phase 4b) will be up to those attending to manage. We ask also that, in order to manage numbers, parents and guardians stay only for the events involving their children.
Thanks for your help.

LIBRARY NEWS
We have been Choosing to Challenge in library this week as we celebrate International Women’s Day. Our term 1 event, the Second Hand Book Sale for Project Compassion is set for lunchtime on Wednesday 24th March. Students can purchase a pre loved library or donated book for 20c. This is a super fun day and a wonderful chance to support others during Lent.
If you have some books at home that you would like to donate, please deliver them to the library anytime between 8am and 4pm on Tuesday 23rd March. We are limited in space in the library so I please ask that deliveries are restricted to this day only. Thank you as always for your support.

Dad's & Kids Campout
So far we have 120 families set to campout under the stars tomorrow night. If you weren't sure if you could make it or not, you can still book until first thing in the morning.
For first timers, here's a couple of tips..
- Dinner and breakfast is provided - Hot beef and ham rolls for dinner - Bacon & egg rolls for breakfast
- Snacks are a must! There will be a movie once the sun goes down
- There is no lighting on the oval, so make sure you bring lighting of some sort, even if it's just a torch
- Aeroguard is always your friend at dusk
- There seem to be a lot of ants up on the oval, so having some stingose in your first aid kit is probably a good idea
- Dad's, bring your bathers...there's a surprise in store!
