Saber Speak

Dear Saber Families,

Only 3 weeks remain before promotion, and we are excited to be wrapping up an exciting academic year. Please continue to encourage your students, especially 8th grade students, to do their best and remain eligible for promotion! We are so close! Notices will continue to go out about 8th grade promotion status, so keep an eye on your email this week, and reach out if you have any questions.

Specific information about promotion, including event details and schedule, will be published very soon. Keep an eye out for specific information and recommendations for

This week we are excited to be holding our Spring Music Concerts! Beginning Band will perform on Tuesday, May 21 at 6pm, while Concert Band and Choir will be performing on Wednesday, May 22 at 6pm. Both performances are in the gym, and take it from me, this event will be incredible! All groups sound amazing, and this is a wonderful way to wrap up the year.

8th grade families are invited to help celebrate their students for promotion! Please send a baby picture of your promoting 8th grader to Ms. Healy (jennifer.healy@simivalleyusd.org) by May 29 to have him or her included in a large display designed to recognize and celebrate growth and growing up. This will be a beautiful tribute to the work students and families have done to get this far, and we look forward to honoring that as we prepare to send our 8th graders on to high school!

Please keep an eye on the Sinaloa website and on our newsletter for more information and updates! Have a great week!

Sincerely,

Bradley Torti

Parents please be sure your students are reading. AR points are part of their English grades. Students need to make sure they are reading an AR approved book and an AR test is taken when the book is completed. Students need to get their parent/ guardians signatures once the test is taken. Please check in with your student, ask them about the books being read and how many points have been earned so far this semester.

Attendance Policies

Attendance Phone Line: 805-520-6830 Press 1, or Ext. 7021 (Can call anytime day or night)

Para espanol, oprima la estrella. (Llama dia o noche)

ABSENCES - Parents have five (5) days to call-in, email, or send in a note to the attendance office to excuse an absence otherwise it becomes truant. Keep in mind that personal/vacation are verified but still considered unexcused.

TARDIES - If a student is tardy to homeroom or late to school, they need to check-in with the attendance office to get a tardy pass. Students tardy to homeroom will have a 15 minute detention after school unless a parent calls, emails, or sends in a note to excuse the tardy. Excessive tardies to classes will affect "citizenship" grade.

EARLY PICK-UPS - We encourage parents to call-in ahead of time (or send in a note or email) for early pick-ups so that we can have the student in the office ready to go. Anyone checking-out a student must be listed on the student's emergency contact list, be 18 years or older, and must show a valid ID.
