Classroom Updates
Tomorrow is Wednesday
Please have your child put their library books in their backpacks. Please help your child prepare for an AR test for tomorrow.
AR Tip of the Day
If your child is struggling with passing AR test please have them read their AR book nightly starting Wednesday night through the following Wednesday.
He/she should read the book a minimum of three times in one evening. The first time an adult may read the book. The second reading should be both the adult and student using picture clues and background knowledge about the subject. Then the third reading your child should read as much of the book alone.
Some students will be able to read independently on the first round and others may need an adult reading along with them all three rounds. Please be flexible depending on your child's needs.
"There is more treasure in books than in all the pirate's loot on Treasure Island." — Walt Disney
AR Assessments
Please note that this semester AR tests will be a requirement once a week. They have to be done by Wednesday so your child will have the opportunity to exchange library books. Some of my students are taking more tests but it is not a requirement. If you have any questions please feel free to email me.
Conferences
I have sent out a few notes for conferences. If you have not received one but would like to conference please email me and we can set up a phone conference or a person to person conference.
Thank you for all you do!
