7 Reasons why you should volunteer at your Child's School

When did things get so busy? Everyone is so busy that it almost seems like a contest to see who’s the busiest. As a working mother of three myself, I assure you I can relate. Between juggling our jobs, caring for our children and household responsibilities, there never seems to be enough time in the day.

So when someone from your child’s school approaches you to volunteer your time, it can feel like there’s no more time to give. But volunteering isn’t just another thing on the “To Do” list. There are so many important benefits to volunteering at school—both for you and your child.

Here are a few I’d like to share:

PIANO RECITAL - January 19th

Greetings,

Our group has grown to 31 students and everyone is making progress on many levels. I am very proud of them all; they are learning that practice has no substitute and being prepares for each lesson has its own reward. Your encouragement in helping them find 10-15 minutes in their busy schedules each day to practice is vital to their success. some of us still need reminders to bring their books to lessons. I have copies of most books, but not all! Thank you for your help to that department. If you see piano books in your house that you do not remember purchasing, please check to see if they might be mine - missing a few books! Thank you!

Ten of the students volunteered to play pre-service music for the TLS Christmas programs this past Saturday, and all did a good job. Most students were busy learning lesson material and others were not quite ready to play for such a large crowd.

The time for EVERYONE to participate will be at our first recital for the school year. Our Winter Recital will be on Sunday, January 19th at 2pm in the church sanctuary. Doors will be open a half hour before the recital. A dessert/punch reception will be held immediately following the recital. Parents are asked to bring a small plate of goodies!

New Women's Bible Study Beginning January 16th

Please join us as we begin a new study entitled: Enough for Now: Unpacking God's Sufficiency beginning Thursday, January 16th at 8:30 AM in the Trinity Room.

The concept of "having enough" is one that is not often experienced. If I only had more money . . . more success . . . more time . . . then I would be fulfilled. Yet even when more is attained, it rarely satisfies. It is not "enough."

An eight-lesson women's Bible study, Enough for Now explores the idea of "enough" through the study of Scripture - specifically the parable of the rich fool, personal stories, and practical exercises. Over the course of the lessons, women will discover how to escape the insatiable quest for more by finding their "enough" in God.

We will continue to meet in the Trinity room each Thursday morning beginning at 8:30. Children are welcome to attend! Contact Karen 262-422-7725 with question or for more information.

Financial Peace University

Join us on Sunday, January 5th at 9:20am as Andrew and Alicia Westphal lead a nine-lesson course based on biblical wisdom and common sense that will help you build a budget and leave money stress behind!
