Don't forget...Spelling City, Unit 4 Week 5, offers fun and meaningful practice of the weekly spelling lists. With this list, the challenge won't necessarily be how to spell the word, but which version of the word to use in the context of the sentence.
I-READ Test
As you know, your child will be taking the IREAD-3 reading test this week. Please make sure (s)he eats a healthy breakfast and has gotten a good night's sleep on these days. Once again, it is absolutely critical that your child be in school on time these days unless, of course, he or she is ill. Make absolutely sure you spring those clocks forward so that your child does not come in during the testing!
Cookie Dough Pick Up
The cookie dough/popcorn fundraiser was wildly successful and will go a long way toward much-needed playground equipment for our school. If your child sold any of these items, we need you to pick them up on Thursday, March 15 from 2:30-6:00 p.m. Please understand that we have no means to store these items and are in desperate need of your cooperation.
Family Literacy Night
If your family is planning to attend Family Literacy Night on March 21, we need you to RSVP by Monday, March 12. This will assist with our planning for this exciting night which is held in conjunction with the fourth graders' famous Hoosiers wax museum night.
Next Week's Share Topic
We've just finished reading the chapter book, Stone Fox. Pretend this book is being made into a movie. Design a movie poster that is advertising this movie. Your poster should include all of the following:
· The movie title
· A picture of an important scene from the book (it should not be a duplicate of the book’s cover)
· A brief summary of the book that will make people want to see this movie, but does not give away important parts.
· The names of the actors who will play the parts (real or made up)
· 2-3 brief comments from movie critics (all made up, of course)
