A note from Mrs. Larson
At this time of year, I also like to reflect on what I am thankful for. I'm thankful for many things in my personal life but I will focus on what I am thankful for at McKinley:
-I am thankful for the big smiles through masks when I see kiddos picking up work.
-I am thankful for the kind words of hope that I hear from adults that visit our office.
-I am thankful for the teachers that work countless hours to make an impossible situation possible for so many students.
-I am thankful for our awesome custodians that keep our school looking beautiful.
-I am thankful for our office staff that works hard to take care of families in need and always answer the phones with care and understanding.
-I am thankful for our classified staff that has stepped up to work with our cohorts and call families in need.
-I am thankful for our families that are trying their best even when the days can be long.
This list can keep going for sure.
Take time to think about what you are thankful for and share it with others. I know it helps me get through those tough days.
Online Book Fair Coming soon 12/7 - 12/13
Greetings McKinley Parents,
We are thrilled to announce that we are going to be partnering with Copperfield’s Books to provide an Online Book Fair fundraiser for our school! This is a fabulous opportunity for us to support a local business, while also raising money for much-needed resources to help us better support our students and families. Here’s what you need to know:
The week of our Online Book Fair is: Monday, Dec. 7 – Sunday, Dec. 13
The website for the Online Book Fair is: www.copperfair.com
Attached are Copper Picks, a PDF Flier, and a Wish List sheet so that while maybe taking a sneak peek at the website, you can start figuring out what you might want to add to your home library!
We are very excited about this partnership and this opportunity to receive a benefit for our school while also sharing a love of literature. We thank you for your support and look forward to your participation, and wish you happy reading!

Final total raised: $21,282!
Thank you so much for participating in our Dance-a-thon! We raised $21,282 to support each and every McKinley/PACS student.
Ms. Alton’s class raised the most among the lower grades and they earned free ice cream scoops from Baskin Robbins.
Mr. Jackson’s class raised the most in PACS and they will get a free slice of pizza from Rafy’s Pizza.
Theo Ruebusch (2nd Grade - Ms. Alton) raised the most individually and he will get a gift basket that has gift certificates to Lombardi’s BBQ and Stockhome, bottles of wine (for the adults) and apple cider for the kids.
Information on how to receive your incentives is coming!
Special thanks to Jessica Servin and Ashley Fitting for helping to put this all together, our awesome finance team on the board (Kelly Pounds and Juliet Bowen), Channon Cederna for creating the t-shirt design, and the folks at Givemefive for producing t-shirts.
