December 8-19, 2014
Over the next 2 weeks we will continue to explore the season of winter. Who doesn't like to build a snowman in the winter? This week we will read stories about snowmen while next week we will read stories with a gingerbread theme. The children will be busy in our art area finishing up their holiday gifts, we hope you like them. In addition to this, we will be mixing shaving cream and glue to make our own puffy snow paint. The children are sure to be surprised to see that our play dough smells like gingerbread. The books we will be reading include Snowmen at Work, The Mitten, The Gingerbread Man, and Our Eight Nights of Hanukkah.
The children are doing a wonderful job of learning how to put their coats on independently. Many of the children are able to zipper their own coats too. When dressing your child in the morning, please keep in mind that our classroom tends to be quite warm. In fact, I don't think our thermometer has dropped below 75 degrees yet. We get plenty of sunshine and the heat works great in our room. Many of the children are too warm when wearing heavy sweaters.
