Jim Stanford- Board President
Mr. Jim Stanford has been a member of the Demopolis City Schools Board of Education since 2004. He was born and raised in Demopolis, Alabama, and is a graduate of Demopolis High School. He lives in Demopolis with his wife of 18 years, Penny, who is a teacher at U.S. Jones Elementary and their son, Heath, who is a student at Demopolis High School. Mr. Stanford is employed at Robertson Banking Company where he serves as Vice President.

The following individuals are instrumental in managing school environments, physical plants, system personnel, curriculum and instruction and educational funds.
Dr. Al Griffin – Superintendent
Dr. Al Griffin serves as the Superintendent of Education for the Demopolis, Alabama Board of Education. Dr. Griffin is an energetic, life-long learner that utilizes a teamwork-oriented approach while striving to maximize individual student potential. He has been awarded numerous state, regional, and national awards both as an administrator and classroom teacher.
The following community members are beneficial partners in education because they provide necessary resources for the advancement of the city school systems mission and vision and help achieve goals through collaboration and community involvement.
