Thank you CSF!
The amazing coders of Ms. Ramirez’s Room 403 in costume this Halloween! These 4th grade students are currently creating interactive characters in our coding “Sprite Lab” during Innovation Lab Special with Mrs. Trinidad. Room 403 consistently comes to the lab with the very best growth mindset, team spirit, and perseverance needed for solving problems! What a dream team!
Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) Monthly Update
In VAPA these past weeks Kindergarten students created beautiful abstract water color crayon fish inspired by the artist Paul Klee. Students 1st - 5th worked on painting their model magic pottery in the style of the Native American Pueblo Potter Maria Martinez. The display case near the library showcases rooms 104, 204, 304, 404 and 504; the rest of the pottery went home last week of will come home next week. Pottery from the display case will come home before winter break.
Our VAPA classes will be action-packed this week as we continue to explore music in all grade levels. Highlights include... Kindergarten and first grade students singing with music and movement, 2nd graders learning about the musical scale and playing Do Re Mi with "boom whackers", 3rd graders collaborating to compose rhythms using musical form and a variety of instruments, 4th graders exploring patterns in drum circles with improv and 5th graders creating music using body percussion.
Coming up in Kindergarten, we will explore quilting creations by Meet the Masters artist Faith Ringgold and make beautiful art inspired by her work. Students in 1st grade - 5th grade learn about Gustav Klimt and embossing with foil. Thank you to Kim Huang for helping to organize our amazing volunteers. I truly value your time and energy in this program.
I look forward to more fun in the arts with all of our incredible volunteers and talented students!
