Dear Cardinal Heights Students & Families,
Here are the latest updates:
Course Selection and Scheduling
Registration for Sun Prairie East High School and Sun Prairie West High School will begin this week for the 2022-2023 school year.
For those who were unable to attend, or those who attended but may have additional questions, please feel free to access our Course Expo Website. This site includes video explanations of courses as well as contacts who can help answer questions. You will also find our scheduling timeline, graduation requirements, suggested course sequences, and links to our student services department. Our counselors and teachers are here to help and support you in the scheduling process over the next few weeks so please reach out as needed.
Our comprehensive high school course guide is available now! A limited number of course guides will be available in student services at Cardinal Heights and Sun Prairie High School.
More information can be found at this webpage.
Counselors and teachers will share pertinent scheduling information with students in grades 8-11 during the month of January. Students will submit course selections through the Xello course planner online platform. There will be supplemental scheduling worksheets available to support the registration process as well.
Students will work with their classroom teachers in Resource to submit their course selections no later than February 3rd, 2022.

January 11th: Students begin selecting courses in Xello (Cannot submit yet)
January 26th - 28th: SPHS Counselors will be visiting Resource classes by houses
January 31st - February 2nd: Students begin submitting courses in Xello

Please keep your student home if they have COVID symptoms. Here is our symptoms checklist.
Reminder/Refresher: If you'd like to drop your student off for the main entrance: please enter Kroncke via Main street and turn left into the Ashley Stadium Parking lot. Staff in yellow vests and/or our SRO will be waving traffic to pull all the way up to the front of the line. Students will be dropped off in this zone only and should use the sidewalk along the fence (to avoid crossing the parking lot and traffic). Cars will then exit on the opposite side of the field, drive down Kroncke towards Linnerud.
Pick up in the afternoon will use the same entrance/exit route. We encourage you to park in the stadium parking spaces if you arrive early and need to wait for your student.
Please also remember that door 10 is an additional drop off zone that typically receives less traffic. You'll enter the side road parallel to Kroncke from Commercial, drive to door 10 on the side of the building and drop off your student. You'll then pull ahead, turn around and exit the way you entered. It is important that you drop off closest to the building and exit on the far side so that students do not have to cross traffic.
Ongoing Reminders:
Accessing Infinite Campus: Having trouble accessing Infinite Campus to review your child’s grades, attendance and more?
This screencast video walks you through the process, Accessing Infinite Campus
Health Office Update: If a student becomes ill at school, they should see the nurse before going home. If a student texts their parent/guardian that they are not feeling well, the parent/guardian should advise their child to go to the nurse. Please know that if you come to pick up your student who is ill our office staff will notify the health office and your student will need to see the nurse prior to leaving. It is easier if the student sees the nurse directly. Thank you for your cooperation.
Calendar Check:
Friday 1/14/22: No School for students - professional development day for staff
Monday 1/17/22: No School for students - MLK day
Attendance Reminder:
Please call our Attendance Line at 318-8020 to let us know when your student will be absent.
If your student is ill, please include any specific symptoms they are experiencing. Also, please let us know if your student has tested positive for Covid -19 or has had close contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19.
Thank you for taking the time to read our weekly update; we couldn’t do this without your support! Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, concerns, or celebrations. We are here to support the success of every student, every day!
Take care & be well,
