Welcome to HSES!

2023-2024

August 30, 2023

Dear HSES Students and Families:

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year at The High School for Environmental Studies! HSES is committed to providing all students with a collaborative learning experience from grade 9 through graduation. We prepare students for citizenship, scholarship, and leadership. Teachers and staff support student interest and learning through our Three Big Roots; knowing every student well, equity and rigor in the classroom, and environmental and climate justice. HSES students have opportunities to work with our partnerships and to gain real world experiences.

We are so excited to welcome you back into the building on Thursday, September 7 at 8:00AM. First period begins at 8:20AM. The theme of the 2023-2024 school year is "Be Your Best Self", so we look forward to seeing all of you on time for the first day of school and beyond.

While we prepare for your arrival, we know you are eager for information about the start of the school year.

Below are some frequently asked questions.

We look forward to seeing you next week and are excited for a successful school year!

Sincerely,

Heather DeFlorio

Principal
