Important Words

Court Pleadings: is written explanations of the parties cases.

Evidence: proof that supports their claim.

Trial: is where both parties present evidence to convince a judge or jury that their side is right and the opponents side is wrong.

Civil Procedures

Both parties in a civil lawsuit must follow certain rules or procedures that describe every step of the trial.

There are three stages in a lawsuit: court pleadings, gathering evidence, then trial.

The plaintiff brings the civil cases to court, and is responsible for providing enough evidence to prove their claim.
